Communication Guide
Parent Communication with Westlake Staff
At Westlake Middle School, we believe strong communication is essential to building a successful school community and supporting student achievement. As Trojans, we value respect, responsibility, and resilience, and effective communication is a key part of those values. Our goal is to provide parents/guardians and students with a clear process for addressing questions, concerns, and celebrations throughout the school year.
If a question or concern arises, the first step should always be for the student to communicate directly with the teacher, coach, advisor, or staff member responsible for the class, team, or program. Encouraging students to advocate for themselves helps develop important skills in communication, problem-solving, and personal responsibility.
If the concern is not resolved or additional clarification is needed, please follow the communication steps outlined below. In most cases, the most efficient way to communicate is by email, followed by a phone call when needed. By working together and maintaining open lines of communication, we can ensure that every Westlake Trojan has the support needed to succeed!
